Samantha Cowe - Thomlinson Xentury Sam

Ambassador of Change

At a young age, Samantha Cowe - Thomlinson aka Xentury Sam, realized she had a voice... a powerful one. It was this voice paired with an unrelenting passion for music, that would quickly become the anchor that would keep her grounded while she moved all over the GTA. The following few years were filled with ups n down, Xentury managed to survive by hustling in the streets, by any means. No matter how bleak things become Sam always kept a song in her heart. As time passed her sound developed. She kept her vocals sharp while also learning to write her own songs. It wouldn't be until an epic series of events, involving the birth of her first child, an abusive ex and the sudden murder of her, then fiancée that would ultimately give Xentury the inspiration to pen her first professional song "PILLOW" A haunting ode about coping with the unnatural death of a loved one. (Editors note: some of the lyrics from PILLOW were derived from actual words of inspiration from the murdered fiancée)

This is the defining moment that changed everything. Of course it was devastating losing someone so close to her, but it was in that moment that she took the pain directly from her heart and put it to the paper. That's when she realized, though this music and her voice could turn tragedy into a Triumph... a negative into a positive... not just a positive for herself, but by sharing her emotional experience, she could connect with so many people and inspire them so they too can overcome whatever holds them back. But it doesn't stop there... no matter what emotions we are feeling, she has the ability to manifest all of them through her truly unique songwriting and her voice. Since then she has been to studios all over the GTA recording with legends like MICHIE NEE, DAN - E - O and DJ MERCILESS. Her list of performances in the last few years, is too big to fit on this EPK, but there is almost no stage in Toronto she has not graced. She performed 49 of 52 weeks in 2018 alone. From small clubs to big festivals, promoters know Xentury.

"Her sound is a modern throwback to the 90's Hip Hop/RnB era (think Wu-Tang meets Mary J. Blige)"

God gave her the voice. Losing the love of her life taught her to bleed on wax. The streets gave her the confidence to perform her music for the rest of the world. Her music is real and no matter the mood or tone of the track, she makes sure, you feel it.
